ABOUT ABOUT

Good PR done well can attract positive, potentially national media attention, increase sales drastically, and create a positive relationship between your business and the public for years to come. Likewise, bad publicity can do just the opposite!

Effective marketing and PR campaigns are essential to help grow your business and bring new customers into the fold. However, if not planned properly with potential public relations impacts in mind, sometimes your marketing efforts can backfire.
Negative PR or publicity can take different forms in business, involving harmful published information, which can affect anything from a company’s sales to its reputation. Different types of negative PR about your business could include bad press, poor reviews or complaints and negative comments on social media.

Leicestershire businesses have had it tougher than most over covid, with local lockdowns hitting the national news, however we have also shown ourselves to be resilient with the highest number of new startups in 2020 and a supportive and vibrant community who can grab national news attention for all the right reasons too!

This event as part of Leicester Business Festival is open to anyone across the UK and will aim to help small businesses to improve their sales, awareness and image through storytelling, maximising local and national press and media opportunities and handling bad PR constructively.

Speakers include an introduction from FSBs local Development Manager Jennifer Thomas, talks from Robin Swinbank of FSBs PR Crisis Service and local PR specialist Kerry Smith, Editor of Niche Magazine.
