ABOUT ABOUT

The three excellent universities of our city and county are joining forces to showcase innovation funding opportunities to scale and grow your business. This event will focus on the very successful scheme ‘Knowledge Transfer Partnerships’ (KTPs) managed and part funded by Innovate UK.

KTPs exist to help businesses innovate and achieve strategic goals through gaining new capabilities using the expertise from academic research and university resources. Through a KTP companies develop new products, services or processes. Hundreds of UK businesses a year successfully attract substantial KTP funding. The innovative capabilities introduced via the KTP projects have enabled businesses to increase their business revenue streams, generate a future leaders talent pipeline and access new markets.

Crucially the knowledge embedded within the business provides a sustainable new in-house capability. There is also a time limited opportunity for companies to apply for ‘Management’ KTPs - designed to help businesses overcome productivity issues through exploring cutting edge management/leadership strategies including: looking at new business models, reshoring supply chains, creating staff training, incentivisation programmes or succession planning. Management KTPs are an ideal opportunity to build resilience or adapt in a post-COVID world.

During this event teams from De Montfort University, Loughborough University and the University of Leicester will showcase their areas of expertise to facilitate new KTP collaborations/funding applications. Our East Midlands KTP advisors Kamran Hussein and Philippa Ryan will be on hand to give tips and insight on the business benefits of the innovation funding and the dedicated support available.

We’ll also be joined by some of our business partners and graduate associates benefitting from KTPs with the three universities. For businesses attending in person there will be an opportunity to discuss their innovation ideas 1-2-1 with the universities and KTP advisors. This event will be most relevant to businesses who are keen to explore an innovation solution to a business challenge and who have been trading for at least 3 years.

At the end of the event there will be an opportunity for confidential 1-2-1 meetings with the regional Advisors to discuss any potential innovation ideas you may have for your business. If you would like to book a 15 minute slot please let us know by sending an email to [email protected]
